About me / Bio:
France Bevk was a Slovene writer, poet, and translator, known for his works in expressionism and social realism. Born in Zakojca, he became a teacher and later a prominent figure in cultural and political activism. His notable works include 'The Vicar Martin Čedermac' and he received the Prešeren Award, Slovenia's most prestigious artistic honor, twice. His life was marked by his anti-fascist stance, for which he was imprisoned during World War II. After escaping, he joined the Slovene Partisans and continued his activism post-war.
