Ignacio Lopez Tarso

Ignacio Lopez Tarso was a Mexican actor who started his career in the 1940s and became one of the most prominent figures of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. He starred in films such as Macario, Rosa Blanca, El Gallo de Oro, and Tiempo de Morir, working with directors like Roberto Gavaldón, Emilio Fernández, and Arturo Ripstein. He also performed in many plays, such as La Celestina, El Rey Lear, and El Hombre de la Mancha, and received several awards for his theatrical work. He appeared in numerous TV shows, such as Cuna de Lobos, La Dueña, and Corazón Salvaje, and was honored multiple times at the TVyNovelas Awards. He was also a federal congressman from 2000 to 2003. He continued acting until his late 90s, and died in 2023 at the age of 98. He was widely regarded as one of the greatest actors in Mexican history.
