Frane Milclnski

Frane Milčinski, also known by his pen name Ježek, was a Slovene poet, satirist, humorist, and comedian, actor, children's writer, and director. He is considered one of Slovenia's foremost 20th-century satirists and entertainers. Born in Ljubljana in 1914, he faced the adversities of World War II and was interned at the Gonars concentration camp. Despite the challenges, Milčinski's creative spirit never dimmed. He worked in theatre and radio from an early age and won numerous awards throughout his career. His notable works include the story 'Zvezdica Zaspanka' and the screenplay for the film 'Kekec,' which won a Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. His legacy continues with the Ježek Award, named in his honor, recognizing creative achievement in radio and television.
