Barbu Ștefănescu Delavrancea was a Romanian writer, orator, and lawyer, considered one of the greatest figures in the National awakening of Romania. He was born on April 11, 1858, in Bucharest, Wallachia, and died on April 29, 1918, in Iași, Kingdom of Romania. He was a member of the Romanian Academy and served as the Mayor of Bucharest. His notable works include 'The Troubadour', 'Mr. Vucea', 'Hagi Tudose', 'Sunset', and 'The Storm'. His style is associated with Poporanism, and he was active in his career from 1878 to 1914. Delavrancea's contributions to Romanian literature and national identity are significant, and his legacy continues to influence Romanian culture.
