Cao Van Vien

Cao Văn Viên was a prominent figure in the military history of South Vietnam. Born in Vientiane, Laos, he pursued a career in the military, rising through the ranks to become one of only two South Vietnamese four-star army generals. He played a significant role during the Vietnam War and was known for his leadership as the Chairman of the South Vietnamese Joint General Staff. After the fall of Saigon, he resettled in the United States, where he lived until his passing.
