Hàn Mặc Tử, born Nguyễn Trọng Trí, was a Vietnamese poet known for his modernist and romantic poetry. He was born on September 22, 1912, in Lệ Mỹ Village, Đồng Hới District, Quảng Bình Province, Vietnam. His father died when he was young, and he grew up in a poor family. Despite his early hardships, he showed poetic talent from a young age and was encouraged by Phan Bội Châu. Unfortunately, he contracted leprosy in 1937 and spent his final days at Quy Hòa Hospital, where he passed away on November 11, 1940. His work remains influential in Vietnamese literature, and he is celebrated as a significant literary figure.
