Manuel Gomez Morin

Manuel Gómez Morín was a prominent Mexican politician, lawyer, and intellectual. He was one of the founding members of the National Action Party, a conservative and Christian democratic party that opposed the hegemony of the Institutional Revolutionary Party. He also served as the rector of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, where he advocated for its autonomy and academic freedom. He was part of the group known as the Seven Sages of Mexico, who contributed to the cultural and political development of the country. He was a prolific writer and speaker, who defended democracy, human rights, and social justice. He was also involved in various public institutions, such as the Banco de México, the Banobras, and the Social Security Commission. He died in 1972, at the age of 75, and was buried in the Rotonda de los Personajes Ilustres. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in Mexican history.
