Armando Manzanero

Armando Manzanero was a Mexican musician, singer, composer, actor and music producer, widely considered the premier Mexican romantic composer of the postwar era and one of the most successful composers of Latin America. He received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in the United States in 2014. He was the president of the Mexican Society of Authors and Composers. He composed more than 400 songs, many of which have been translated into different languages and performed by artists such as Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Andrea Bocelli, Luis Miguel, Alejandro Fernández, and Tony Bennett. He also appeared in several films and television shows, such as Noches de Ronda, Tres Deseos, and El Estudio de Manzanero. He died on 28 December 2020 from complications of COVID-19, at the age of 85.
