Daniel Sada

Daniel Sada was born in Mexicali in 1953. He studied journalism and Spanish literature, showing a special affinity for the works of Dante and Ovid. He taught literature at various institutions and organized poetry workshops throughout Mexico. He was a member of the Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Arte and received several awards, including the Herralde Prize, the Xavier Villaurrutia Prize, and the National Prize for Arts and Sciences. He wrote poetry, short stories, novels, and a screenplay, using a distinctive and innovative style that combined archaic metric forms, colloquialisms, and internal rhythm. His novels include Almost Never, One Out of Two, and Because It Seems to be A Lie, the Truth is Never Known. He died from renal failure caused by diabetes in 2011.
