Vasco Santana

Vasco Santana was one of the most renowned actors of the classical era of Portuguese cinema. He started his career in theatre and played the main character in the first Portuguese sound film, A Canção de Lisboa, in 1933. He starred in many other films and plays, such as O Pátio das Cantigas, O Leão da Estrela, A Menina da Rádio, and O Costa do Castelo. He was known for his comedic talent and his memorable phrases. He was married three times and had three sons. He died of a heart attack in 1958, at the age of 60. He is considered a legend of Portuguese culture and a symbol of Lisbon.
