Americo Amorim

Américo Amorim was a Portuguese billionaire businessman, who inherited a small cork company from his grandfather and turned it into the world’s largest producer of cork products. He also diversified his portfolio into energy, finance, tourism and other sectors, becoming one of the most influential and respected entrepreneurs in Portugal and abroad. He was known for his vision, innovation, and social responsibility. He was married to Maria Fernanda, with whom he had three daughters, and was a devoted grandfather to his nine grandchildren. He was also a philanthropist, supporting various causes and institutions, especially in the fields of education, health and culture. He died in 2017, at the age of 82, leaving behind a legacy of success and excellence.
