Guillermo Lohmann Villena was a distinguished Peruvian diplomat, historian, lawyer, and writer. Born on October 7, 1915, in Miraflores, Lima, he is celebrated as one of the most prolific Peruvian historians, particularly known for his extensive work on the viceregal era of Peru. His academic journey began at the Deutsche Schule Alexander von Humboldt Lima and continued at the Universidad Católica, where he was influenced by other notable historians. Lohmann's dedication to his craft led him to become the Permanent Delegate of Peru to UNESCO from 1974 to 1977. His scholarly contributions have left an indelible mark on the study of Peruvian history, making him a key figure in the field.
