Alberto Flores Galindo

Alberto Flores Galindo was a prominent Peruvian historian, social scientist, and essay writer. Born on May 28, 1949, in Bellavista, Callao, he was educated at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris. His early works on social and political movements of the early twentieth century established him as a leading figure in Peruvian intellectual life. He was known for promoting a nondogmatic brand of Marxism and for his exploration of Andean utopia. His most notable work, "Buscando un Inca," won the Premio Ensayo de Casa de las Americas and made significant contributions to the cultural and political debates in Peru during the 1970s and 1980s. He passed away on March 26, 1990, in Lima.
