Adrian Maniu

Adrian Maniu was a Romanian poet, prose writer, playwright, essayist, and translator. He was born on February 6, 1891, in Bucharest, Romania. His father, Grigore, was a jurist and professor of commercial law, and his mother, Maria, came from an old Oltenian boyar family. Maniu's literary career began with his debut in the magazine Insula in 1912, and he published his first book, Figurile de ceară, the same year. He was a correspondent member of the Romanian Academy from 1933. Maniu's work includes poetry, prose, plays, and translations, reflecting his intellectual and artistic leanings. He passed away on April 20, 1968, in Bucharest.
