Nasrat Parsa

Nasrat Parsa was a celebrated Afghan singer and composer, born in Kabul. His musical journey began at a young age, influenced by his family's involvement in music. Parsa's talent was recognized early when he sang Ahmad Zahir's songs on national radio, leading to an invitation from Zahir himself. The Soviet invasion prompted his family's move to India, where Parsa deepened his musical knowledge under the tutelage of Daish Pandi and Ustad Munawar Ali Khan. Eventually settling in Germany, he continued his music career in exile, performing across Europe and occasionally touring other countries. Parsa's music, characterized by soft rock, pop, ghazals, and classical influences, played a significant role in shaping Afghan pop culture. His untimely death in Vancouver, Canada, following a concert altercation, left a void in the Afghan music scene.
