Blanca Estela PavOn

Blanca Estela Pavón was a Mexican film actress and singer of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. She appeared in several classic films of the 1940s, such as Cuando lloran los valientes, Los tres huastecos, Nosotros los pobres, and Ustedes los ricos. Her career peaked between 1948 and 1949, when she won an Ariel Award for Best Actress and was nominated for another. She starred alongside Mexican star Pedro Infante in several films, becoming one of his most memorable leading ladies. She also had a successful career as a radio actress and singer, and participated in the first film dubbed in Spanish, Luz que agoniza. On September 26, 1949, she died in a plane crash near the Popocatépetl volcano with another 23 people on board. She was only 23 years old and had a promising future in the Mexican cinema. She is remembered as one of the most beloved and talented actresses of her generation.
