Miron Bialoszewski

Miron Białoszewski was a Polish poet, novelist, playwright and actor. He was born and raised in Warsaw, where he experienced the German occupation, the Warsaw Uprising, and the post-war reconstruction. He studied linguistics at the underground University of Warsaw and worked as a journalist for various magazines. He was also involved in the underground theatre scene, where he wrote and performed his own plays. He debuted as a poet in 1955 and published several collections of poems, prose, and drama. His style was innovative, experimental, and colloquial, often drawing from his personal experiences and everyday life. He was also openly gay and lived with his partner, the painter Leszek Soliński, for many years. He died of a heart attack in 1983, leaving behind a rich and influential literary legacy.
