Kim Larsen

Kim Larsen was a Danish singer and musician who was one of the most popular and influential artists in Denmark. He started his career as a member of the rock band Gasolin' in the 1970s, which became one of the most successful Danish bands ever. He later pursued a solo career and also formed other bands such as Kim Larsen & Bellami and Kim Larsen & Kjukken. He wrote and performed songs in various genres, such as rock, pop, folk, and children's music. He was known for his distinctive voice, catchy melodies, and poetic lyrics that often reflected his views on society, politics, and culture. He also appeared in several films and TV shows, such as Midt om natten, which was based on his album of the same name. He sold over five million albums and received many awards and honors, such as the Danish Music Award, the IFPI Honorary Award, and the Order of the Dannebrog. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2017 and died at his home in Odense in 2018. He was widely mourned by the Danish public and his fans, and his songs are still played and celebrated today. ²
