Sam Loco Efe

Sam Loco Efe was a Nigerian actor, producer and director who was born in Enugu, Nigeria. He started acting in elementary school and joined a travelling theatre group after secondary school. He fought on the Biafra side during the Civil War and later worked for Michelin and Dunlop as a sales representative. He left his sales career in 1977 to pursue his passion for theatre and became a prominent figure in the Nigerian film industry. He acted in over 200 movies and TV shows, including Hotel de Jordan, Langbodo, Ukwa, Games Fools Play, Across the Niger, and Long John. He was known for his comedic roles and his mastery of the craft. He died in a hotel room in Owerri, Imo State, while editing a film. He was found with ventolin inhalers beside him, indicating that he died of asthma. He was buried in Benin City, Edo State, where he had lived for most of his life. He left behind six children and many fans who admired his work.
