Eunice Munoz

Eunice Muñoz was a Portuguese actress who was born in Amareleja, the daughter of a theater family. She made her debut on stage at the age of five, singing a song. She joined the National Theater Company at the age of 13, where she worked with renowned actors and directors such as Amélia Rey Colaço, Palmira Bastos, João Villaret and Maria Matos. She also studied at the National Conservatory of Theater, graduating with honors. She had a long and distinguished career in theater, television and cinema, playing a variety of roles from classical to contemporary, from comedy to drama. She was considered one of the best and most versatile Portuguese actresses of all time, and received several awards and honors, including the Order of Saint James of the Sword, the Order of Prince Henry, the Order of Merit, the Sophia Award, the Golden Globe and the honorary doctorate by the University of Évora. She was also a teacher and a mentor for many young actors. She was married twice and had three children, two of whom followed her footsteps in the acting profession. She died in Carnaxide on April 15, 2022, at the age of 93, after suffering a heart failure. She was buried in the Prazeres Cemetery, in Lisbon, with the presence of many personalities from the cultural and political spheres. She left a legacy of talent, passion and dedication to the art of acting.
