Inayat Hussain Bhatti

Inayat Hussain Bhatti was a versatile artist who excelled in various fields of art and culture. He started his career as a singer and actor in 1949 with the film Pheray, which was a hit and made him a popular star. He sang for nearly 500 films, in both Urdu and Punjabi, and recorded about 2500 songs. He also acted in more than 300 movies, and produced and directed 30 films. He was known for his folk and classical singing, as well as his religious and patriotic songs. He also performed on stage, radio, and television, and wrote columns and books on various topics. He was a social worker and a religious scholar who promoted the development of the Punjabi language and literature. He was awarded the Nigar Award for Lifetime Achievement and many other honors for his contributions to the Pakistani cinema and culture. He died on 31 May 1999 at the age of 71 after suffering a paralysis attack. He is remembered as one of the legends of the Pakistani film industry and a pioneer of the Punjabi culture.
