Rizwan Wasti was a Pakistani television actor, banker, and newscaster who was one of the pioneers of the broadcasting industry in Pakistan. He started his career as an English news broadcaster for Radio Pakistan at the age of 16, becoming the youngest newscaster of the subcontinent. He worked for Radio Pakistan for 16 years, and then moved to Pakistan Television, where he acted in many popular drama serials, such as Shama, Aagahi, Aroosa, Shaheen, and Khuda Ki Basti. He was known for his distinguished voice, his versatile acting, and his dignified personality. He also worked as a vice president at National Bank of Pakistan, and retired in 1996. He was married to actress Tahira Wasti, and had three children, including actress Laila Wasti. He died of natural causes in 2011, at the age of 74.
