Jack Britto

Jack Britto was a Pakistani-born cricketer who played for the Indian national team from 1946 to 1956. He was one of the first Indian cricketers to play in the English County Championship. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler. He made his first-class debut for Sind in the 1944-45 Ranji Trophy, scoring 182 runs in his first innings. He played for India in the 1946 tour of England, where he scored 108 runs against Lancashire. He also played in two Test matches against England in 1951-52, scoring 64 runs in his debut match. He moved to England in 1952 and played for Somerset from 1953 to 1956. He scored over 3000 runs in his county career, with a highest score of 154 not out against Glamorgan. He retired from cricket in 1956 and settled in London, where he died in 2013 at the age of 87. He is remembered as one of the best Pakistani-born cricketers and a pioneer of Indian cricket.
