Daisy Lucidi

Daisy Lucidi was a Brazilian actress, politician, and radio broadcaster who had a long and successful career in various media. She began her career in radio at the age of six, reciting poems and participating in radio dramas with famous actors such as Paulo Gracindo and Mário Lago. She also hosted several radio programs, such as Seu Criado, Obrigado! and Alô, Daisy!, which was the first radio show to provide public service information to the listeners. She made her debut in television in 1963, in the miniseries Nuvem de Fogo, written by Janete Clair. She later starred in several telenovelas, such as Enquanto Houver Estrelas, Supermanoela, Bravo!, O Casarão, Paraíso Tropical, Passione, and Babilônia. She also appeared in some films, such as Folias Cariocas, Eu Transo, Ela Transa, As Aventuras de Agamenon, o Repórter, and Vendo ou Alugo. Besides her artistic career, Daisy Lucidi also had a political career. She was elected as a city councilwoman of Rio de Janeiro in 1976, and then as a state deputy of Rio de Janeiro for two consecutive terms, from 1980 to 1988. She was affiliated with the parties PDS, PFL, and PPR. She defended the interests of the cultural and artistic sectors, as well as the rights of women and children. Daisy Lucidi died from complications of COVID-19 on May 7, 2020, at the age of 90. She was hospitalized at the Hospital São Lucas since April 25, 2020. She left behind a son, a grandson, and a legacy of talent and dedication to her work and her public.
