Marilia Soares Pera

Marília Pêra was a Brazilian actress and singer who became famous for her versatile and expressive performances in cinema, theater, and television. She started her career as a child, following her parents who were both actors. She worked as a dancer, singer, and choreographer in many musicals and revues. She made her film debut in 1968, starring in The Red Light Bandit. She became known for her roles in films such as Pixote, Bar Esperança, Tieta of Agreste, and Central Station. She also starred in many popular TV shows, such as Brega & Chique, Pé na Jaca, and A Diarista. She won several awards for her acting, including a Molière Prize, a Contigo! Award, and a National Society of Film Critics Award. She was also a theater director and producer, and a vocal coach for many singers. She died of lung cancer in 2015, at the age of 72. She was considered one of the most talented and influential actresses in Brazil.
