Fernando Silva Santisteban

Fernando Silva Santisteban was a prominent Peruvian historian, anthropologist, and professor known for his extensive work on the history and anthropology of Peru. His academic journey began at the National University of Trujillo and continued at the National Major University of San Marcos, where he obtained his PhD in History at the young age of twenty. Throughout his career, he served as Director of the National Culture Institute and the National Museum of History, and was President of the American Committee on Culture of the OAS. His close relationship with the writer José María Arguedas and his passion for the Andean world significantly influenced his work. He was a prolific writer, contributing to the understanding of Peruvian history through his publications. His dedication to his field earned him several awards, including the National Prize of Culture "Inca Garcilaso de la Vega."
