George Constantinescu was a Romanian scientist, engineer, and inventor. He was the creator of the theory of sonics, a new branch of continuum mechanics, and registered over 130 inventions. Born in Craiova, Romania, he was influenced by his father, a professor of mathematics and engineering science. Constantinescu settled in the United Kingdom in 1912 and became an honorary member of the Romanian Academy. His contributions to technology, particularly in the field of sonics and synchronization gear, have left a lasting impact.
