About me / Bio:
Bảo Đại was the 13th and final emperor of the Nguyễn dynasty in Vietnam. His reign saw the tumultuous transition of Vietnam from a colony within French Indochina to an independent nation. Despite his efforts to modernize the country, his time as emperor was marked by political instability and he is often remembered as a figurehead ruler with limited power. After abdicating the throne, he spent his remaining years in exile, mostly in France, where he passed away.
