Le Pho

Lê Phổ was a Vietnamese painter renowned for his contributions to modern art. He was born on August 2, 1907, in Thanh Xuân, Hà Nội, and passed away on December 12, 2001, in Paris. Educated at the École Supérieure des Beaux Arts de l'Indochine and the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, he was a prominent figure in the Romanticism, Impressionism, and Surrealism movements. His works often depicted the Vietnamese landscape, still life with flowers, family settings, and portraits, particularly elongated figures of Vietnamese women, evoking the influence of surrealism.
