La Thoại Tân, born Phạm Văn Tần, was a renowned Vietnamese American actor, director, screenwriter, producer, singer, master of ceremonies, and journalist. His career spanned from the 1950s until his death in 2008. He was known for his work in pre-1975 Republic of Vietnam cinema and his charming on-screen presence. After resettling in California post-1975, he continued to contribute to the Vietnamese community's arts and entertainment.
