Mohammad Hashim Khan

Mohammad Hashim Khan was a prominent Afghan politician and a member of the royal family. He was the younger brother of King Mohammad Nadir Shah and the elder brother of Sardar Shah Mahmud Khan and Sardar Shah Wali Khan. He served as the Prime Minister of Afghanistan from 1933 to 1946, under his brother and then his nephew, Mohammad Zahir Shah. He implemented the policies that his brothers had orchestrated, such as strengthening the army and the economy, improving transport and communications, and seeking foreign assistance. He preferred not to rely on the Soviet Union or Britain, and instead turned to Nazi Germany, Imperial Japan, and Fascist Italy for aid. He also faced opposition from some factions and tribes who resisted his reforms or supported the British. He retired from politics in 1946 and died in 1953 at the age of 69. He was respected as a loyal, honest, and intelligent leader who served his country with dignity and courage.
