Thomas Krag

Thomas Krag was a Norwegian writer who was born in Kragerø and grew up in Kristiansand. He moved to Copenhagen, where he became part of the Norwegian colony of artists and intellectuals. He wrote novels, short stories, and plays, often set in his native region of Southern Norway. Some of his books were bestsellers in Denmark, but he is not very well-known today. He was influenced by the naturalist and impressionist movements, and his style was characterized by lyrical descriptions, psychological insights, and melancholic moods. He was married to Ida Bengta Emilie Nielsen, and they had one son, Erik Krag, who became a literary historian. He died in Oslo in 1913, at the age of 44.
