Barbara Yung was a Hong Kong actress who rose to fame in the early 1980s. She was best known for her role as Huang Rong in the TV adaptation of The Legend of the Condor Heroes, which made her a household name in Hong Kong and other parts of Asia. She was also one of the Seven Fairies of TVB, a group of popular actresses in the 1980s. She had a promising career ahead of her, but she died tragically at the age of 26, apparently of suicide by gas inhalation. Her death shocked her fans and friends, and sparked speculation about her personal life and relationship with actor Kent Tong. She was buried in England, where she had spent part of her childhood and education.
