Salvador Fernandes Caetano

Salvador Fernandes Caetano was a Portuguese entrepreneur who founded Grupo Salvador Caetano, a multinational group of companies in the automotive and industrial sectors. He started his career as a mechanic and later opened his own workshop, where he repaired and sold cars. In 1968, he established a partnership with Toyota to import and distribute its vehicles in Portugal. He also diversified his business into other areas, such as aerospace, information technology, communication, and advertising. He was awarded several honors and distinctions for his achievements, such as the Order of Prince Henry, the Order of Merit, and the Order of Business Merit. He was also recognized as one of the most influential people in Portugal by several publications. He died on December 29, 2021, at the age of 95.
