Fakhruddin Ebrahim

Fakhruddin G. Ebrahim was a prominent Pakistani judge, lawyer, and activist. He served as the Attorney General of Pakistan under Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, the Governor of Sindh under Benazir Bhutto, and the Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan from 2012 to 2013. He was known for his integrity, independence, and courage in upholding the rule of law and democracy in Pakistan. He was also involved in various civil society initiatives, such as the Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC), the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP), and the Pakistan Institute of Labour Education and Research (PILER). He was awarded the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Medal of Excellence) by the President of Pakistan in 2005. He died at the age of 91 in Karachi on 7 January 2020.
