Necla Hibetullah Sultan

Necla Hibetullah Sultan was born on 16 May 1926 in Nice, France, as the youngest daughter of Şehzade Ömer Faruk and Sabiha Sultan, who were both grandchildren of the last Ottoman sultan, Mehmed VI, and the last caliph, Abdulmejid II. She spent her childhood and early youth in France, until her family moved to Egypt in 1938. In 1943, she married Prince Amr Ibrahim, a member of the Egyptian royal family, and became a princess of Egypt as well as an Ottoman princess. She had one son, Prince Osman Rifat, who was born in 1951. After the Egyptian Revolution of 1952, which abolished the monarchy, she and her husband settled in Switzerland. She later moved to Spain, where she died on 6 October 2006 at the age of 80. She was buried in Istanbul, Turkey, according to her will. She was known for her beauty, elegance, and charity work. She was also interested in art, music, and literature. She was fluent in Turkish, French, Arabic, and English.
