About me / Bio:
Hiromi Hayakawa was a talented and versatile performer who began her music career as a contestant in the reality show La Academia in 2004. She worked mostly in musical theatre, playing various roles in Mentiras: The Musical, a popular show based on the pop culture and music of the 1980s. She also starred in the Mexican adaptations of Peter Pan and Hairspray, among other productions. Hayakawa was also a voice actress, who worked primarily on the Spanish American dub of films and series from the United States. She voiced Merida, the protagonist of Pixar's Brave, for the Spanish American dub. She also sang the theme song for the Mexican version of Phineas and Ferb. Hayakawa was known for her cheerful and positive personality, as well as her passion for singing and acting. She married Fernando Santana in January 2017 and announced her pregnancy in June. However, tragedy struck on September 26, 2017, when she was rushed to a hospital and found to have internal bleeding in her liver. She underwent an emergency cesarean section to save her baby girl, Julieta, but both of them died the next day. Hayakawa was 34 years old. Her death shocked and saddened the Mexican entertainment industry, as well as her fans and friends. She was cremated along with her daughter, and their ashes remained in Mexico City with her husband. Hayakawa left behind a legacy of artistic excellence and joy, as well as a message of love and gratitude to her fans.
