Hao Weizhen

Hao Weizhen was a Chinese tai chi teacher. He was a disciple of Li Yiyu, who was the nephew of Wu Yuxiang, the founder of Wu-style tai chi. Hao learned the art of Wu-style tai chi from Li for 15 years, and became proficient in both the internal and external aspects of the art. He also studied other martial arts, such as Xingyi, Bagua, and Bajiquan, and integrated them into his tai chi practice. He was known for his skill in push hands, and was able to defeat many challengers with his subtle and refined techniques. He taught tai chi to many students, including his son Hao Enguang and his grandson Hao Yueru, who became famous tai chi masters in their own right. Hao Weizhen also modified the Wu-style tai chi forms, creating his own style, which is now known as Hao-style tai chi. Hao-style tai chi is characterized by small and compact movements, soft and relaxed body, and emphasis on internal energy. Hao Weizhen is regarded as one of the most influential figures in the history of tai chi.
