Bobby Kottarakkara

Bobby Kottarakkara, also known as Abdul Azeez, was an Indian actor who acted in Malayalam films and TV serials. He was born on 11 March 1952 to Pareedkunju Ravuthar and Hajma in Kottarakkara, Travancore-Cochin, India. He began his acting career on stage and made his film debut with Mucheettukalikkaarante Makal in 1975. Bobby soon became a well-known actor and comedian. He performed in around 300 roles in a variety of films, some of which are Mazhavilkavadi, Kannezhuthi Pottum Thottu, Golanthara Vartha, Kaazhchakkappuram and Chithram. He also acted in several TV serials such as Tapasya, Sthree and Kadamattathu Kathanar. He was known for his innocent and straightforward acting style and his collaboration with other popular actors such as Jayaram, Mukesh, Jagathy Sreekumar and Innocent. He was also skilled in the art of Kadhaprasangam, a form of storytelling with music and gestures. He was not married and had no children. He died of a massive heart attack on 3 December 2000, during the filming of Vakkalathu Narayanankutty. The film had Jayaram and Mukesh in the main roles and was released a few months after his death. He was 48 years old. He is remembered as one of the finest actors and comedians of Malayalam cinema.
