Lina Morgan

Lina Morgan was a Spanish film, theater, radio, revue and television actress and vedette. She was born in Madrid in 1937 as María de los Ángeles López Segovia, the fourth child of a humble family. She started working as a showgirl at the age of 16, and soon adopted her stage name of Lina Morgan. She became famous for her comic roles in popular genres such as the Spanish revue and musical comedy. She also starred in several films and TV shows, such as Las que tienen que servir, Hostal Royal Manzanares, Una de dos, and Escenas de Matrimonio. She was also the owner and impresario of the Teatro La Latina in Madrid from 1978 to 2010, where she produced and performed many successful plays. She received many awards and honors throughout her career, such as the Gold Medal of Merit in Labour, the Gold Medal of Merit in the Fine Arts, and the Grand Cross of the Civil Order of Alfonso X, the Wise. She died in 2015 at the age of 78 from pneumonia. She is widely regarded as one of the most beloved and influential figures of Spanish comedy and theater.
