Maurice Gibb

Maurice Gibb was a British musician who achieved worldwide fame as a member of the pop group Bee Gees. He was the fraternal twin of Robin Gibb and the younger brother of Barry Gibb. He played various instruments such as bass guitar, guitar, keyboards and percussion, and also sang lead vocals on some of the Bee Gees' songs. He was also a prolific songwriter and producer, both for the Bee Gees and for other artists. He co-wrote many of the Bee Gees' hits, such as "How Deep Is Your Love", "Stayin' Alive", "Night Fever", "Too Much Heaven" and "Tragedy". He also released two solo albums, The Loner and Strings and Things, and collaborated with artists such as Lulu, Tin Tin, Jimmy Ruffin, Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. He was known for his outgoing and humorous personality, as well as his musical versatility and creativity. He was awarded the CBE in 2002 for his contribution to music. He died in 2003 at the age of 53 due to complications of a twisted intestine. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century.
