About me / Bio:
Elizabeth Taylor was one of the most famous and glamorous stars of Hollywood’s golden age. She began her career as a child actress in the early 1940s and rose to fame with her role in National Velvet (1944). She went on to star in many critically and commercially successful films, such as A Place in the Sun (1951), Giant (1956), Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958), Butterfield 8 (1960), Cleopatra (1963), and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1966). She won two Academy Awards for Best Actress, one for Butterfield 8 and one for Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, and received four more nominations. She also received many other honors and awards, including the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 1993. Elizabeth Taylor was also known for her personal life, which attracted much media attention. She was married eight times to seven husbands, including actors Richard Burton and Eddie Fisher.
