About me / Bio:
Nicolae Milescu, also known as Nikolai Gavrilovich Spafari, was a Moldavian writer, scholar, and traveler. After studies at the Greek patriarchate college in Constantinople, he returned to Iaşi, Moldavia, and was appointed secretary to Prince Gheorghe Ştefan. He translated the Bible from Greek into Romanian, and his translation was used for the Bible printed in 1688 by the Walachian prince Şerban Cantacuzino. His most valuable writing is the 'Puteshestviye cherez Sibir ... do Kitaya' ('Journey Across Siberia ... to China').
