Hamid bin Muhammad bin Ruzayq, also known as Ibn Ruzayq, was one of the most prominent Omani historians and poets. He was born in 1783 in Nakhal, South Batinah, Oman, and passed away in 1874. Ibn Ruzayq witnessed and chronicled the events of Oman and its history during the first half of the 19th century. He left behind a rich legacy of historical and poetic works, including Al-Sabai'ik wal-Fusoos, which are considered significant contributions to Omani and Arabic literature.
