Nguyen Thi Kim

Nguyen Thi Kim was a prominent Vietnamese sculptor and painter, born on December 10, 1917, in Hanoi. She was the first female sculptor to directly create a statue of Ho Chi Minh working at the Bac Bo Phu in 1946. Her father, Nguyen Van Khai, was also a painter. She studied at the Indochina College of Fine Arts and was involved in the cultural resistance movement with the Viet Minh. Her works contributed significantly to Vietnamese art and culture, and she was awarded various honors for her contributions to the resistance and labor movements.
