Trần Văn Hương was a South Vietnamese politician, educator, and leader known for his roles as the Prime Minister and President of South Vietnam. Born in 1902 in a poor family in the Mekong Delta, he became a schoolteacher and later entered politics. He was known for his opposition to both the French Union and the communist Vietminh. He served as mayor of Saigon twice and was imprisoned for his political beliefs. Despite facing several challenges, he played a significant role in the political landscape of Vietnam during a tumultuous period.
