About me / Bio:
Nguyen Binh Khiem, also known as Bach Van cu si, was a Vietnamese administrator, confucianist, poet, prophet, and later a saint of the Cao Dai religion and of the new religious movement known as School of Teaching Goodness. Born in Co Am village, Hai Phong, he passed the official government examination at the age of 44 and served in the Mac dynasty court for seven years. After resigning due to ignored complaints of government corruption, he returned to his native village and opened a school. His oracular poetry, especially the long poem Sam Trang Trinh, has been compared to that of Nostradamus and contains the earliest known use of the word "Vietnam."
