Neço Muko was an Albanian singer and composer who was born in Himarë in 1899. He studied in Greece and Russia and learned to play the violin and the mandolin. He composed vaudevilles and participated in various music festivals. He was a founding member of the group Pif-Paf, which recorded several songs in France. He created a new genre of Albanian iso-polyphony music called avaz himariot, or avaz himariotçe, that became identified with the music of his home region Himarë. His best known song is "Vajza e valëve" (Girl of the waves). He died in 1934 at the age of 35.
