Omran al-Zoubi was a Syrian politician who served as the Minister of Information in the Government of Syria from 23 June 2012 until July 2016. He was a member of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party and a loyalist of President Bashar al-Assad. He was known for his staunch defense of the Syrian government's actions during the Syrian civil war and his criticism of the opposition forces and their foreign supporters. He also accused Israel of violating the ceasefire agreement and the sovereignty of Syria by carrying out airstrikes against Syrian military targets. He died from a heart attack on 6 July 2018 in Damascus at the age of 58.
