About me / Bio:
Omar Abu Risha was an influential Syrian poet known for his pioneering works. He broke with the traditions of Arab classicism and introduced modern themes and styles to Arabic poetry. He was also a prominent diplomat who served as the ambassador of Syria to several countries, including Brazil, India, Austria, and the United States. He was a supporter of Arab nationalism and opposed colonialism and Zionism. He died in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 1990.
